Information
In 1984 one of the treasures of Curaçao became accessible to the people,
the underwater World. Curaçao Public Aquarium, built on the oceanfront
at Bapor Kibra, has a healthy coral reef just a stone’s throw from the
entrance and makes a great family outing.
This beautiful aquarium
complex is one of the most unique in the world because of its
"open-water-system" - meaning that seawater is continuously pumped
into the aquariums.
The aquarium offers a combination of information, education and
interaction. Throughout the day there are several tours and presentations
where you can watch and touch the animals and learn more
about them.
For some real fun, you can snorkel or scuba dive and hand-feed stingrays,
sea turtles, sharks, and many other colorful tropical fish at the Animal
Encounters or enjoy the activities at the Dolphin Academy.
After all that excitement, you can relax in the coolness of the theatre
and watch some underwater movies. Or have some lunch on the terrace
or shop at the souvenir shop of the aquarium. Next to the Aquarium is
the Sea Aquarium Beach with many bars, restaurants, shops and lots of
activities.
